Foundations of Reason and Meaning is a research lab that works directly with individuals across age groups to examine widely discussed perspectives on psychological development through direct engagement with participants’ experiences, beliefs, and sense of meaning.

All studies conducted through psychFORM are developed and authored by Kevin Waldman, Principal Investigator, who leads a team of trained graduate student researchers responsible for data collection and analysis. Each study is conducted in accordance with approved IRB protocols, ensuring compliance with established ethical standards for human subjects research.

Kevin Waldman, Founder / Principal Investigator

Kevin Waldman’s work centers on the psychological dynamics of pressure, performance, and identity, with a particular focus on how individuals adapt to environments that shape behavior, self-concept, and decision-making. His research examines how people navigate expectations - both internal and external - and how these conditions influence psychological development over time.

His career spans Ivy League research labs, correctional institutions, Division I athletic programs, and extensive qualitative engagement with individuals across academic and community settings. This range of experience supports a research approach grounded in direct observation and sustained interaction with participants.

As a mental health professional, Kevin’s philosophy is grounded in the view that human development is best understood within a broader historical and contextual framework. His work emphasizes enduring human capacities for resilience, personal responsibility, and meaning-making.

Kevin has been engaged in the mental health field since 2016 and holds certification to conduct human subjects research in accordance with established ethical and regulatory standards.

psychFORM, LLC was founded by Kevin Waldman as an academic project during his undergraduate studies at the University of Michigan. He is currently a nontraditional graduate student at Northwestern University, and the continued development of psychFORM reflects his sustained commitment to advancing psychological research, with his long-term professional focus centered on clinical practice and direct patient care as a psychologist.
